So, my blurb below about math... just disregard. After another week of being discouraged over math, I took the time to really really look at Singapore math, placed a call to MFW about the schedule, and thanks to the home instructor guides, plan it. We started it this week and with a bit of review, the boys are actually happier with math. We'll save our MCP workbooks for topics that needs extra review.
We are taking a November/December break from MFW/ECC. We've been just reading about Pilgrims and Thanksgiving. The amount of resources on the web is unbelievable. I found printable worksheets from Currclick for The Magic Tree House Thanksgiving on Thursday and we're doing the accompanying lapbook.
Today, we read about Sarah Hale, the lady who saved Thanksgiving in a book titled Thank you Sarah Our boys really enjoyed the illustrations in this book. Another book for pure fun and total sillyness was Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving.
We needed a week to just go back and concentrate on math and reading with a little silly thrown in. Next week, we'll delve into our studies a little more.
